Rare and highly collectable solid carved redwood mallard drake by Richard “Fresh Air Dick” Janson (Sonoma, CA) ca. 1930s. Excellent structural condition. Portions of this example had old overpaint that has been professionally removed revealing good original paint. Black light inspection shows one small area of paint strengthening to portions of the white stripe along the tail edge. Mallard examples by this maker rarely come available. Measures 16.5” in length.
