Super rare and stylish pintail hen by Ray Baliel (Rio Vista, CA) ca. 1930s. Excellent all original paint. Solid redwood body with sugar pine head. Very similar to the early examples shown on page 394 of Wildfowl Decoys of California by Michael Miller. Baliel decoys are highly prized by California collectors and they rarely come available. Measures approximately 13” in length. Note the paint wear on top of the head and the tip of the tail as well as the tight neck crack.
