An exceedingly rare hollow carved bluebill drake from the Mason Decoy Company (Detroit, MI). This is a special order, premier grade, low head model patterned after the Nate Quillen decoys as depicted on page 38 of Mason Decoys by Goldberger & Haid. Very early example circa 1900. Small body measuring 13” in length. The body and head paint is moderately worn but all original. It appears the bill was repainted at some point. An important example for the Mason collector.
