Nice solid carved, challenge grade black duck from the Mason Decoy Company (Detroit, MI) ca. 1905. Paint is mostly excellent and all original that has been protected under a thin coat of what appears to be varnish. This decoys sold in the April of 2009 Guyette & Schmidt auction (lot 171) for $2250 plus buyers premium. Tip of bill is very slightly blunted. Measures 17” in length.
