Hollow carved, premier grade, broadbill pair by the Mason Decoy Company (Detroit, MI) ca. 1900. Rare and large, spatulate bills. Both are in worn but all original paint with fine detail. The hen has a check on the left side of the neck as well as dents and shot scar. The drake has an age split along the back and what appears to be a light and very old coat of varnish. A very rare and early broadbill pair. Each measures approximately 13” in length.
