Solid carved redwood canvasback drake by Jacob “Jack” Andersen (Napa, CA) ca. 1930s. This decoy was discovered in the collection of the famed early California winemaker Robert Sebastiani. It was found without paint and nicely repainted by Robert Companion. This exact decoy is pictured on page 128 (bottom photo) of Wildfowl Decoys of California by Michael Miller. Measures 14.5” in length. There is an old tight neck crack.
