Excellent and all original paint on this drake wigeon by Harold “Pappy” Kidwell (Berkeley, CA) ca. 1960s. Solid carved hard balsa body, boxwood raised wingtips and carved redwood head. See page 283 of Wildfowl Decoys of California by Michael Miller for a similar example. Measures 16.5” in length. Signed Harold Kidwell, Berkeley, Calif. on the bottom. In ink is also written 1969 and 1970. I believe this example to be a bit earlier.
