Very stylish pintail drake by Frank Mattie (Antioch, CA) ca. 1930s. Superb and original paint on the body. Unique raised wing tips carved into the body. The head black lights as repaint and potentially is carved/painted by Ed Snyder. There is a tin patch under the tail that appears to be original to the construction. See page 439 of Wildfowl Decoys of California by Michael Miller. Measures 16.5” in length. Retains the unique Mattie ballast weight.
