Good and all original paint on this fine pintail pair by Ed Castagnetto (San Francisco, CA). The high head drake is signed and dated 1993 and the hen is signed and dated 1989. See page 340 of Wildfowl Decoys of California by Michael Miller. Castagnetto practiced carving daily with Dick Janson every night after work for over a year. As Ed tells it, he got so good he was able to fool the master himself. The drake is just over 17” and the hen is 16” in length.
