Super rare, original paint showing in use wear blue-winged teal drake from the Dodge Decoy Company (Detroit, MI) ca. 1885. Considered the “middle period” for the company as described in Detroit Decoy Dynasty, The Factory Decoys of Petersen, Dodge and Mason by Ron Sharp and Bill Dodge. See page 165 for a similar example. Neck filler has been professionally replaced. Black light shows several small areas of shot scar repair as well as a small area of light paint strengthening to the top of the head. This is a very rare example and the only Dodge blue-winged teal I’ve ever offered. Measures 12.5” in length.
