This exact pair of cork on board green-winged teal are pictured on page 398 of Wildfowl Decoys of California by Michael Miller. Known as the “Birds Landing Rig” and circa 1940s, this outstanding and all original pair are believed to have been derived from the Birds Landing area just down stream of Rio Vista, CA. Very well carved and painted. Each measures approximately 12” in length. Only a few pintails and teal are known to exist from this great rig. Note some chipping around the left eye of the drake.
